Here presented, an elegant and original Elgin table clock.
The Elgin Company was a major American watch manufacturer from 1864 to 1968. The company sold watches under the names Elgin, Lord Elgin and Lady Elgin.
For nearly 100 years, the company's manufacturing complex in Elgin, Illinois, was the world's largest dedicated watchmaking facility.

The dial is white here, bordered by a brass-colored set.
The indexes are in the same finish and at the bottom it is inscribed the specificity "Alarm".
The needles are phosphorescent.

The case, made of thick, sculpted glass, has a slight slope to facilitate reading.
The glass pavement is in very good condition except for a small chip on the back at the base, but nothing that detracts from the overall beauty.
The clock was made in Germany and is equipped with an alarm system.
Given its weight of just over 1 kg, it can easily be used as a paperweight.

This piece is powered by a mechanical movement visible through the glass, which makes this object really atypical. The clock works but remains capricious and an adjustment would be necessary. Its primary use remains nevertheless its extremely decorative side.
