WOMEN'S WATCH

UNIVERSAL GENÈVE

STRIPE DIAL

CIRCA 1970

-

-

Universal Genève, "the watch designer", has designed and sold a multitude of versions. This version of the ladies' watch, however, is quite unexpected, particularly because of the originality of its dial.

-

This example, attributed to Gerald Genta, in the style of the "Shadows" of the time is indeed equipped with an unusual dial, silver gray with fine horizontal and asymmetrical stripes. This was certainly to give it a more modern and technological side at the time, at the dawn of the invasion of quartz movements.

-

The watch is sold with a bracelet in its original state, perhaps of the period, but which suits it perfectly. Note a micro-chip in the original glass on the base, but that does not detract from the beauty of this piece.

-

The case is made of stainless steel and the watch is powered by a Swiss-made 17-jewel Universal Genève caliber 11 mechanical movement. A rare little jewel.
