WYLER INCAFLEX ASHTRAY CA. 1970
SOLD
Rare Wyler ashtray featuring the famous incaflex balance spring at its center.
A watchmaking company founded by Paul Wyler in 1896 and well known for its robust, shock-resistant movements and models, Paul Wyler invented the shock-resistant "Incaflex balance spring" in 1927 and patented it in 1932. The two arms of the serpentine balance wheel, made of an elastic alloy, gave the pivot of the balance wheel axis greater protection against lateral shocks.
A spectacular marketing campaign by Wyler also attracted worldwide attention in 1956, when two watches were dropped from the top of the Eiffel Tower and continued to function unchanged after the fall.
This plastic laminate is in fair condition, with a few signs of use. Collector.
