UNIVERSAL GENÈVE

AUTOMATIC WOMAN

CIRCA 1970

-

-

Universal Genève has not only designed beautiful watches for men. Women have also had the right to the UG touch and their sophisticated movements.

-

These creations, which earned Universal Genève the title of "couturier watchmaker", were sold in wealthy boutiques around the world and were very popular with actresses, socialites and the wives of world leaders.

-

This copy, attributed to Gerald Genta, in the style of the "Shadows" of the time is remarkable for its quality. Everything is original and this copy is in an excellent state of conservation.

-

Its dial is beautiful, changing in the light to take on golden and copper tones. The "U" of Universal Genève is in a distinctly coppery tone. The baton hour markers are positioned horizontally, which gives a certain relief to the whole.

-

The watch is powered by a Swiss-made 25-jewel Universal Genève automatic movement, rare in a woman's watch, at least at the time.

-

A rare little gem.
